Back post mounts come in either a 30 degree bent
top (top image) to display the plaque at an angle
or a straight top (bottom image) to display the plaque
vertically.
To assure proper sizing, back posts are provided
in the following standard sizes;
3/4" square - 48" long for plaques
up to 100 square inches
1" square - 60" long for plaques 80
to 250 square inches
1-1/2" square - 80" long for plaques
200 to 450 square inches
2" square - 80" long for plaques over
450 square inches
During the pattern making process, the cast plaque
is provided with a special pad for mounting of the back
post.
When mounting the back post, you will need a wrench.
Either a box wrench or ratchet wrench works fine.
The bolts (provided by us) are then inserted through
the pre drilled holes in the post, threaded into the
special mounting pad cast as part of the plaque, and
tightened.
These images were taken in the foundry.
During actual installation, we recommend cutting the
back post to the desired length, then setting the back
post FIRST (in concrete if desired) and then with the
aid of an assistant, attaching the plaque to the post.
